MLC is doing the Six-Pack of Peaks series and we are inviting the MLC community to join us. If you are interested in hiking the final peak, Mt. San Gorgonio with us, please RSVP below (please read all details before signing up).

We will be meeting at the trailhead at 6:15AM and starting our hike promptly at 6:30AM.

Please note this is not a beginner hike. For safety reasons we are capping this event to seven people. This is the tallest mountain in Southern California with an elevation of 11,503 feet. We highly recommend that you have hiked above 10,000 ft before, comfortable hiking over 10 miles and being on your feet for 12 hours. Our goal is to keep the group small and finish in 11 hours.

Meeting Location: We will be meeting in front of the restrooms in Big Falls Picnic area parking lot. As soon as you past the parking information booth you will make a left.

What to bring: (Water, electrolytes, flashlight, trekking poles (if you hike with them), layers/gloves/neck warmers (It's going to be windy at the summit) anything to keep you warm but you can easily take off and put on. It's recommended that you bring at least 3 liters of water (you can purchase Purified Water With Electrolytes which will be better than just water). Drinking electrolytes will help you keep your body hydrated with less water. Food (snacks/lunch) - you will be on the trail all day burning a lot of calories, it's important that you fuel up. Your water should be the heaviest thing you carry. A trash bag to pack out your trash. It's important that we practice Leave No Trace principles when out on the trail.

Weather Conditions (as of 10/16): We are looking at low 40 degrees at the summit with 15 mph winds which will make it feel like 30 degrees. Overall it's going to feel like mid 40 degrees (please dress accordingly).
